COMMUNITY ARTS BRAND IDENTITY & WEB DESIGN | NEWCASTLE
NEW ARTISTS’ COLLECTIVE
Community over competition
The New Artists’ Collective is a community-led initiative here in Newcastle that supports the growth of artists across the Hunter Region. When they approached me in 2025, their existing brand no longer reflected their heart. They wanted to move away from the "sharp elitism" of the traditional art world and create a space that felt playful, accessible, and professional. The goal was a complete refresh that focused on connection and community over competition, a brand that actually felt like the supportive ecosystem they were building.

Creative Response
The refreshed visual identity captures the essence of the New Artists’ Collective: a connected and evolving creative network built on trust, generosity, and collaboration. The new logo introduces an organic circular form symbolising growth, movement, and creative flow. It represents the ripple effect of community, how one artist’s practice can inspire and influence others.
The visual language is refined yet approachable. A grounded palette of charcoal, linen, gold, and white creates a calm, balanced foundation, while bold typography conveys clarity and confidence. The imagery direction focuses on warmth and authenticity, artists connecting, shared exhibitions, and creative moments. Each image is clean and honest, celebrating real people and the energy of collaboration.
The result is a contemporary, thoughtful identity that feels authentic to the collective’s purpose: nurturing creativity through connection and community.
